Managing Quality in Early Years

VistapointThis System is marketed under the VistaPointTM brand name and is designed to meet the latest Standards and Outcomes for the Early Years sector. The System offers integrated Management Systems for Quality Assurance and Health & Safety for the Day Care Provider that are designed to meet the requirements of The Early Years Foundation Stage (May 2008).  

The System addresses the business of a Nursery setting as 4 modules:

  1. Business Management
  2. Quality Systems Management
  3. Management of Child Care and Welfare
  4. Health & Safety Management

The System consists of a series of manuals which can be taken singly or as a set. The manuals are supplied as hard copies and on an interactive CD-ROM in Microsoft Word format to enable you to quickly and easily customise the system to suit your needs.

The new EYFS 2008 Compliance Manual is designed in the format of the 5 key Welfare Requirements of the EYFS and enables the user to record how each requirement is met at their setting. There are links to the former 14 National Standards, the appropriate Outcome of "Every Child Matters", relevant legislation, and there is also the ability to link to the setting's own policies, procedures and record forms. To complement this, a new (August 2008) Self-Evaluation Guidance Manual is now available to assist the user in completing the OFSTED Self-Evaluation Form (SEF). 

There is a supporting Policy Manual, a Forms Library containing new EYFS Learning & Assessment records, a Staff Handbook, a Risk Assessment Manual, and a  Health & Safety Training Manual supported by an optional training package of Powerpoint slides. For more in-depth audit and assessment of a setting's Management Systems for Quality Accreditation Schemes such as ISO 9000, there is also a Quality Management Manual.

System Up-dates:

The System Manuals are being continuously up-dated to ensure on-going conformance to new regulations and initiatives within the Early Years sector. From August 2008 these can be accessed by clicking on a link following this paragraph.
